KEN ROGERS On Friday December 5, 2008 Ken slipped quietly away at the age of 84. Born in Saskatchewan raised in rural Manitoba, Ken came to Winnipeg to work and live in 1946. It was there that he met his soulmate Viola. They were married in 1949, and with the arrival of two children their family was complete. Ken was a very industrious man and was never without a project whether it was building two of their homes or the cottage at Jessica Lake. Ken especially loved the cottage, there, he never ran out of projects or places to pour concrete. Ken retired from Nabisco Foods in 1986 and thoroughly enjoyed his retired life. Winters were spent in Florida where he achieved Professional Status as a shuffleboard player and was active in the Shuffleboard Association. Summers were spent at the cottage, and in both locations he enjoyed the company of family and friends to the fullest. Ken also loved to travel and he and Vi took every opportunity to do just that whenever they could. Ken is survived by his beloved wife Viola, son Glen (Joanne), their daughters Ellen (Luca) and Anne (Joel). Daughter Kimberly (Terry) and children Sheri (Sheldon), Michael (Kristen) and great-grandson Cameron. Ken is also survived by his brother Cliff of Calgary. Services for Ken will take place on Friday, December 12th, 2008, 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, Reverend Brenda Fraser to officiate. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111
