EILEEN MARGARET SAUNDERS (nee GLADDEN) Born July 6, 1918, in Kelwood, MB. where she was raised, Eileen passed away December 8, 2008 in Winnipeg. Eileen was predeceased by her parents, four brothers and one sister. She resided in East and North Kildonan for over 60 years. Eileen volunteered for many community projects and charitable organizations, but for over 20 years, the Christmas Cheer Board was dear to her heart, and for whom she knitted for children, right up to her death. She is survived by her daughter Brenda (Ian) of Nanaimo, B.C.; grandchildren: Karen, Robert (Susan) of Santa Rosa, CA, Colleen (Chris); and her five beautiful great-granddaughters: Megan, Kaitlin, Eva, Amelia and Milla. We were so fortunate that the whole family was able to celebrate our Nan's 90th birthday this past summer. A private family interment will take place Friday, December 12 in the morning at Glen Eden, and a Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, R3C 9Z9.
