MARGARET SAWATZKY (nee REMPEL) It is with deep sadness that the family of Margaret Sawatzky announces her passing on December 8, 2008 at Eastview Place at the age of 87 years. Margaret is survived by her children, Ed (Theresa), Marlene (Pietro), Tom (Colleen), Laura (Al), Ron (Donna) and Leona (Tim); grandchildren Lisa, Chris (Julia), Mark (Crystal), Roberta, Ryan (Cherie), Derek and Richard; great-grandchildren Ella, Ben and Charlie; and her sisters, Anne, Nettie and Dora of Altona. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Carl, and her daughter, Dora, in infancy. Mom loved cooking, gardening, sewing, crafts, curling and golfing. Over the years she also volunteered and participated in various community organizations in Halbstadt and Emerson. Mom and Dad enjoyed travelling through North America and abroad. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at Eastview Place for their wonderful care provided to Mom. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 13 at 11:00 a.m in the Sommerfeld Mennonite Church, Altona, MB. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Margaret's memory may be made to Eastview Place, Box 660, Altona, MB, R0G 0B0 or Altona and District Palliative Care, Box 670, Altona, MB, R0G 0B0. Arrangements entrusted to Wiebe's Funeral Chapel, Altona, MB.
