GERARD LEOPOLD MOUSSEAU April 28, 1922 December 8, 2008 On December 8, 2008, with the early morning sun shining down on him, Gerry's battle with cancer came to a peaceful end. Gerry was predeceased by his first wife Mary, and leaves to mourn their children, David (Wilma), Gary (Lynn), Brian (Shelley), Michelle; grandchildren, Lara (Steve), Jodi, Gerard, Mylynda (Will), Kyle (Denise), Derek, Evan, Roxanne and Jenna; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Nathan, Kyra and Jordan. Also left to mourn is his second wife, Gwen and their loyal companions, Pongo and Joey. Born the youngest of 12 children in Aubigny, Manitoba. He was forever grateful to leave his birth place and move to Winnipeg where he learned Morse code and hired on with the CNR as a telegrapher and station agent. He was promoted to train dispatcher (GLM) with postings at Port Arthur, Dauphin, The Pas and Regina. After 36 proud and memorable years of service, Gerry retired in Winnipeg as a power controller and rail traffic controller. Gerry settled and raised his family in St. Boniface, and was actively involved in the community. He was instrumental in the construction of the Notre Dame Community Club where he served as president and building chairman from 1968 to 1976. Well known throughout his life for maintaining a beautiful yard, Gerry shared his love of gardening with his wife Gwen. Gerry was a happy, caring and exceptional person whose fondest moments were times shared with his family and many friends. Heartfelt thank you to all who visited Gerry; your love and companionship was sincerely appreciated. A special thank you to individuals at the Tache Centre who provided loving care, comfort and friendship during his final days. Rest in Peace, my love. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Road. Interment of the cremated remains will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. Flowers gratefully declined; memorial donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 9Z9.
