MORTON GREENBERG Peacefully, after a long illness, Morton Greenberg, age 78 passed away on December 9, 2008 at the Sharon Home. Predeceased by his beloved wife Vicki, he is survived by his children, Harriet (Hamid), Pam (George) and Jack (Hanneke); his brother Alan (Noreen); his grandchildren, Sarah, Aryan, Roya, Jacob, Jonah, Sam and Zachary; sister-in-law Lovey (Lenny). As well he left behind his special friend, Rose Knight, and many lifelong friends, especially Manley Rusen and Bill Brownstone. Mort will always be remembered for his love of life, touching the lives of everyone he knew. He was an avid sports enthusiast whether it was playing tennis, baseball and football, or cheering on his kids and grandkids. Together with Vicki, they shared a special love of theatre, music and travel. The local Winnipeg theatre scene was enriched greatly by their talent. No social occasion was complete without Mort's rendition of My Way . Mort had a special gift for enjoying life to the fullest and his sense of humour was present right to the end. In the last few years of his life Parkinson disease slowed him down but never crushed his spirit. The family would like to thank the staff at the Sharon Home with a special thanks to Shirline and Susanna for their compassionate care in the last few months. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2008 at Congregation Etz Chayim, 123 Matheson Avenue. In lieu of flowers a donation in Mort's memory can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or Parkinson Society of Manitoba.
