PATRICIA M. WILDER On Sunday, November 30, 2008 in Richmond, British Columbia, at the age of 87 years, beloved mother of Fermie Wilder of Richmond BC, loving mother and mother-in-law of Shael and Sherri Wilder of San Diego, CA, devoted and adoring grandmother of Livia, Evan and Alix Wilder, sister and sister-in-law to Saul and Marion Rothstein of Spokane, WA, and beloved cousin, aunt, friend and neighbor to many. Pat was widowed at the young age of 39, by the passing of her husband Oscar in 1960. A strong and determined woman, she then proceeded to earn two Bachelors and a Masters Degree, and went on to a long and successful career as a respected educator and counselor in the Winnipeg Seven Oaks School Division. She retired in 1993 and moved to Richmond, BC to be nearer her children and grandchildren. Pat lived her entire life with independence, dignity, optimism, incredible determination and an eternal positive outlook. Her greatest gifts to her children and grandchildren were teaching them the importance of integrity, honor and respect, and human compassion for others. All these she taught by example in the way she continuously lived her life. She was a lifelong supporter of charities, and a devoted and caring friend to many. All who knew her were aware that nothing was more important to Pat than family, which she always placed above all else, whether as a loving and incredibly supportive, encouraging and understanding mother and mother-in-law, an adoring grandmother, or a caring and devoted sister, cousin, aunt and beyond. She will be ever loved and missed by all who knew her. Funeral services were held at the Hebrew Sick Cemetery, Winnipeg, Canada, on December 3, 2008. The pallbearers were Evan Wilder, Abe Simkin, Murray Simkin, Jack Simkin, Sam Simkin and Danny Globerman. The family wishes to extend its deepest gratitude to Dr. John Yun, Dr. Morris Gordon and the many other caregivers, family and friends who helped, supported and comforted Pat in these past few months.
