Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCYRIL GODFREY DEANE Peacefully, on Saturday, December 6, 2008, Cyril Godfrey Deane, passed away, in his home, at the age of 88 years. He is survived by his wife Pauline; sons, Brian (Mary), Bruce (Julie), and grandchildren, Kacey, Jesse and Jacqueline. Cy was born January 25, 1920, in Winnipeg, and worked for the Winnipeg Free Press until the outbreak of the war. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and remained stationed in Canada, obtaining the rank of Flying Officer. He and Pauline were married in 1952 and together built their house in Winnipeg and their cabin at Lake of Two Mountains, Ontario. Cy spent the majority of his career as the sales manager for Alcan Price Extrusions Ltd. and retired in 1984. Cy had a passion for the cabin where he would always be tinkering with something that needed repair and offering up a glass of Sherry to anyone that came to visit. He loved the outdoors and spent time canoeing, hunting, riding ATV's and snowmobiles, and it was only three years ago that he hung up his helmet. Most of all he loved teasing his three grandchildren. Cy had many friends of all ages and was considered a true gentleman by all. No formal service will be held. If desired, donations can be made to the Salvation Army.
