SHARON RITA SHEA BOND 1948 - 2008 On December 10th, 2008, Sharon Bond died peacefully, as she wished, surrounded by her loving family and the spirit of (step)son Andrew who was in northern Ontario at the time. Staff at the Medical Intensive Care Unit, Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba provided sensitive, loving and impeccable care and comfort to her and her family during this transition. Sharon was born on March 3, 1948, in Iroquois Falls, Ontario, the third daughter of Margaret and Leonard Shea. The family moved to Pine Falls, Manitoba, where she lived, played and learned until leaving for university. She graduated from St. John's College in 1971. Her long career working for the Province of Manitoba, in the service of others, included the fields of justice, child daycare, welfare, family violence and seniors. A special time in her life was spent in Dauphin, Manitoba, where she established a lifelong network of friends. In addition to her work for the provincial DayCare Program in Dauphin, she created a thriving business in aerobics. Exercise and fitness were a passion for her, which she later impressed upon her husband John. Happily retiring in 2003, in Winnipeg, she began a new life traveling, sewing, quilting, bicycling, taking beautiful photographs, gardening, and nurturing and supporting her many nieces and nephews. She was especially passionate about her volunteer services at 10,000 Villages and at Hospice and Palliative Care Manitoba. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 15th at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Drive, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Those whom she touched around the world, who feel saddened by not being able to attend, are encouraged to remember her at a time, place and manner that best expresses their connection to Sharon. To honour her spirit of giving and sharing, contributions on her behalf can be made through the Living Gift program offered by 10,000 Villages (www.tenthousandvillages.ca). As you Share-on in this way, please remember darling Sharon. NEIL BARDAL INC. 204-949-2200 nbardal.mb.
