GLORIA MARICE SPENCER (nee RIY) 1952 - 2008 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gloria on December 10, 2008 after a very courageous struggle with Multiple Sclerosis for 35 years. She was predeceased by her father Stephan, mother Maria and brother Richard. She leaves to mourn, her son Daniel Glen Spencer, her sister Candace Hamulka (Mike), nephew Mathew Brown, niece Stacey Hamulka, her very dear friends Peter Kulyk, Evelyn Boyko and Cathy Tully. Gloria attended Grant Park High School where she loved music, art and writing. She graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education. Her teaching career was short due to the stress that the MS had on her. She pursued a career with the Federal Government, but after a few years was forced to resign. She was a very independent person and was able to live on her own until July of this year, when she moved to Luther Home. She loved it there. We wish to thank the wonderful staff at Luther home for their devotion to making Gloria's stay stimulating and fun. Many thanks to the excellent staff on A4 at the Health Science Center for doing everything they could to ensure her comfort. A memorial service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street on Monday, December 15 at 7:00 p.m. Interment to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Gloria's memory to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Manitoba. 586-8044
