Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEARL J. D. MCFEE Earl J. D. passed away peacefully on December 9, 2008 after a brief illness. Predeceased by his wife Jean of 61 years earlier this year. He is survived by his daughter Susan Steele (Greg); son David; grandchildren, Jason and Jennifer; his sister Margaret of Rosser, Manitoba and brother John of Winnipeg. Earl was born April 11, 1921 in Winnipeg. He served overseas in the Second World War and shortly after his return he met Jean who he married in 1947. In 1948 Jean and Earl moved to Vancouver and settled in South Vancouver where they raised their family together. Earl worked for the CPR before purchasing the Esso service station at 49th and Main. Earl's two passions in life were his love of golf and his involvement in the Masonic Lodge of which he proudly served as Grand Master. He was a cancer car driver for over 17 years. The family wishes to give a special thank you to Dr. Lyall Levy, his family doctor of many years, and would also like to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and other staff of the Acute Care for Elders of VGH who made Earl so comfortable in his final days. Earl was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many, who will be deeply missed, never forgotten and always in our hearts. A Celebration of Earl's life will be held at Van Dusen Gardens, 5251 Oak St., Vancouver on December 18, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the B.C. Just happen to run across Obits, sadden. Worked for Earl back in 64 to 66 Langara Garage 49th and Main. The best boss I ever had. Like many a story.
