Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBEATRICE (BEA) HELEN COATES (nee SCAMMELL) Peacefully on Friday, December 12, 2008, mom passed away at Victoria General Hospital. A loving mother and devoted wife, mom lived a long life with a warm heart and generous spirit. Her personal motto was, giving is always better than receiving and was happiest when spending time with family. Mom was born on April 8, 1922 in Darlingford, MB. Her happiest memories of childhood were spent in Courtney, BC with her Aunt Nell and Uncle Will. Bea and John were married, first living in Darlingford and after several moves, settled in Winnipeg in 1950. Mom spent many happy and successful years working for the Hudson's Bay Company. Home and family were the greatest joys of mom's life. She worried about everyone and her most frequent question to all those around her was, would you like something to eat dear? Her favorite moments were spent sharing with others and cooking for her family. Mom's smiles can brighten any moment, Mom's hugs put joy in all our days, Mom's love will stay with us forever and touch our lives in precious ways. Mom leaves to mourn her husband, John of 68 years, son Murray (Gwen) and daughter Terry, 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Also siblings, Dot, Syd and Ron (Fran), eight nieces and three nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and her daughter Trudy Nash (Brian). The family of Auntie Bea wishes to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the awesome, wonderful staff of 2nd Floor, Vista Park Lodge. Your excellent devoted care and kindness will always be appreciated. Special thanks are extended to the staff at Victoria General Hospital especially Dr. Thorlakson and nurses, Audrey, Blanka and Deborah for your care and attention. A private family service of remembrance is being held. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, please make a contribution to a charity of your choice. Chapel Lawn 885 - 9715
