STATHORI IKONOMOU It is with great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Stathori Ikonomou on December 14, 2008. Stathori was born December 7, 1907 in Pili, Kos, Greece. She was the third child of Ioannis and Evangelia Parzakonis. She had three brothers, Haralambo, Ernest and Anthony (predeceased). Upon the passing of her husband, Dimitrios, she came to Canada to be with her daughters, son-in-law and grandson where she spent the last 43 years. Stathori lived to celebrate her 101st birthday on December 7, 2008. Although we will miss her greatly, for she brought a terrific sense of humour, an abundance of love and a sense of level-headedness and calm into our lives, her passing was content because she lived a very full life surrounded by her family in health and happiness. We could not have asked for a better matriarch. With endless love and memories, we wish you a wonderful passing. Left to mourn; daughters, Evangelia Fuzeta, Touli Foundoulakis (Nikita), Chryssi Lambos (Jim); grandchildren, Dean James Lambos (Ritza), Effi Dramis (John), Dimitrios Foundoulakis (Anna); great-grandchildren, Krisi, Christina and Thalia. Services will be held at the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2255 Grant Ave. Prayers on Tuesday, December 16 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services on Wednesday, December 17 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Waverley Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Jim Lambos, John Lambos, Tony Vagianos, Peter Nathanail, Dean J. Lambos and Dean M. Lambos. Many thanks to the staff at the Victoria Hospital for their warmth, compassion and care they provided to our Mother and Grandmother. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Manitoba Greek Hellenic Centre.
