GERALD PETRIE April 27, 1935 - December 13, 2008 The family of Gerald Petrie is saddened to announce his passing on Saturday, December 13, 2008 after a four month illness. He is survived by three brothers, Edward (Judy) of Calgary, David (Barbara Hirt) of Winnipeg and Gordon (Donna) of Winnipeg; one sister Carole (Don) of Winnipeg; brother-in-law Mel Harper; four nephews, Cameron Petrie of Calgary, David Harper (Carrie) of Kelowna, Brad Petrie (Nicole) of Winnipeg and Chris Petrie (Kyla) of Winnipeg; niece Penny DeJager (Duane) of Calgary. Gerald was predeceased by his parents Ida and George Petrie and by his sister Helen Harper. Gerald will be greatly missed by all his family. The family would like to thank Gerald's good friend Ken Roy for all his help. Gerald left Winnipeg at an early age. He worked in various cities across Canada, returning to Winnipeg in the early 1980s. Gerald always enjoyed his cars, replacing his car on a regular basis. As per Gerald's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private service will take place at Brookside Cemetery at a later date.
