Mom was born at Rembrandt, MB, December 3, 1916. She married Dad in 1935 and settled on a farm half a mile from her birthplace which was to become her home for the next 67 years. Mom was a hard working person. Being a farm wife, she worked along side Dad performing all farm duties, especially during the haying and harvest seasons. Mom was the first baby to be baptized in St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Rembrandt. Mom was very active in the organization of the church and served in various capacities during her lifetime. Mom was an excellent cook. Her specialty was Ukrainian ethnic foods which included the Ukrainian wedding bread known as korovai . We shall cherish the fond memories of the celebration of Christmas and other special occasions. Mom was very proud of all her children's accomplishments. She was the greatest fan of her sons' band known as The Ambrose Brothers Band. As her health began to fail, Mom moved from her farm home to the Sunrise Lodge and later to the Arborg Personal Care Home. Our family is grateful and expresses thanks to the health care workers at the Lodge, the Personal Care Home, the Arborg Hospital, as well as Dr. N. Shenouda for the care and respect shown to our mother. Panahyda (prayer service) will be held Thursday, December 18, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Arborg. Divine Liturgy will be held Friday, December 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church, Arborg, Rev. Fr. Harry Chuckry officiating. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Rembrandt, the Arborg Personal Care Home or a charity of one's choice. In our hearts a beautiful picture, more precious than silver and gold. It's the face of a wonderful mother, whose memory will never grow old Vichnaya Pamyat Everlasting Memory Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
