BEATRICE EDLA MILLS On December 15, 2008, following a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer, Beatrice (Bea), our dear mother, passed away at the age of 77 years, peacefully, at the Riverview Health Center in Winnipeg with family by her side. Beatrice was born August 14, 1931 in Eriksdale, Manitoba to Olaf and Valborg Hammar. Mom was predeceased in 2003 by her beloved husband of 54 years, Curtis (Jack) Mills and an infant granddaughter Marna in 1977. Mom is survived by her children Arlene Wachs (Franz), Allan Mills (Evelyn), Karen Coward (Martin), Kevin Mills, and her grandchildren Curtis, Allan, Cameron, and Cathleen Wachs, Aaron and Angela Mills, Bruce Anderson (step), Kristina Ellis (Dave), and Kari Poppleton (Eric). Mom has two great-grandchildren, Kallie and Jackson Poppleton, along with three great-step-grandchildren Fallon, Nolan, and Wyatt Anderson. Mom is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, their families, and many friends. Thank you to staff at the Oncology Department of the Victoria Hospital and the Riverview Health Center for their kindness and care during Mom's illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements are with Neil Bardal at 3030 Notre Dame Avenue, Winnipeg. Across from Brookside Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday, December 18, 2008 between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 3030 Notre Dame Avenue, across from Brookside Cemetery. A celebration of Beatrice's life will take place on Friday, December 19, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc. Interment to follow at the Brookside Cemetery.
