Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORMAN EDWARD SCHULTZ It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Norman on December 12, 2008 as the result of a vehicular accident. He was born on December 10, 1977 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Left to cherish his memory are his fiancée Amanda Sapaieha; father Glenn Schultz; mother Frances Bailey; sister Glenda (Kevin) Casper; grandfather Albert G. Schultz (Sr); grandmother Laura Drew; godmother Debbie McLean; and his faithful companion, Hippie. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Norman was predeceased by grandmother Evelyn Schultz; grandfather R. Edward Drew; uncle Randy Schultz and stepfather Thomas Bailey. Norman was raised in Seven Sisters Falls, Pinawa and Whitemouth, Manitoba. He surrounded himself with many friends and with his big heart, was always willing to help a friend. Norman loved the outdoors, and a huge part of his life in Manitoba included trapping, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, riding his ATVs and spending time at the family hunting camp in the Whiteshell Provincial Park. Norman had all the toys a young man could want, he bought his Mach 1 Skidoo, a series of quads and he even made his own quad trailers. For many years Norman worked in the West Hawk/Falcon Lake areas in the construction trade, and even ventured out on his own as NES Enterprises. Subsequently he was employed as a carpenter for a brief time in the Kenora area. Norman left Manitoba to pursue employment in Alberta, and lastly British Columbia, where again he was employed as a carpenter. For the past seven years he was rebuilding his life in British Columbia. On the advice of his good friend Derek Dottavio, Norman went out to BC where he quickly found work again, doing what he loved - building. Norman worked for various employers on Vancouver Island building chalets, apartments, condos and grand homes amongst mountains and breathtaking scenery. Again Norman was so proud of his work; he kept pictures of the extravagant homes he built and shared them with his family. Norman seemed to be settling in to his home away from home with his west coast family. A memorial service was held in British Columbia on Tuesday, December 16, 2008. Yates Funeral Home on Vancouver Island entrusted with arrangements. Special thanks to Norman's friends in British Columbia, Ingrid, Flo and Mathew Tremblay and Virginia Ogrodnick. A memorial service will be held at the Whitemouth Community Hall in Whitemouth, Manitoba, on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Honorary Pallbearers will be Nicole Szmerski, Derek Dottavio, Mike Davidson and Heath Zimmerman. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the River Hills Memorial Fund.
