Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET HELEN JOSEPHSON (ISFJORD) It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful Mother and Amma, Margaret. With her family by her side Mom passed away in the early morning of Wednesday, December 17, 2008 after a very short battle with cancer. Mom leaves to mourn and cherish her memory, her loving children, Linda (Cameron) Benediktson, Carol (Paul) Graham, Cindy (Lorne) Harasym, Wanda (Tim) Anderson, Mona (Gordon) Johnson and Steven (Kirsten) Josephson. Amma's precious grandchildren, Kristjon, Sigmundur and Johann (Mandy) Benediktson, Jodi (Will) and Mark Graham, Lorne (Joanne), Curtis and Laura Lee Harasym, Brett and Drew Anderson, Brandon (Shianna) and Stephanie Johnson, Willow and Soren Josephson; her great-grandchildren, Logan Harasym, Sidney and Blaze Finnbogason-Benediktson and a new great-grandchild on the way. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers, who were her best friends, Norma Torbert, Thelma Lomenda, Elert (Darlene) Isfjord, Norman (Josie), Herman (Verda) Isfjord, Patsy (Jimmy) Gottfried, Paul Chopek and Bob Prise. Her nephews and nieces whom she loved like her own children will miss their Aunty Margaret immensely. She is also survived by her only aunt, Anne Biluk. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Walter and infant daughter Susan; her loving parents, Norman and Katie Isfjord; her loving sister Catherine Guttormason-Prise and loving brother Marvin Isfjord; her in-laws, Sigmundur and Margaret Josephson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Daisy Isfjord, Jean Isjford, Jimmy Guttormason, Art Lomenda, Don Torbert, Mona Chopek and Oli and Rosebjorg Josephson. Mom was also predeceased by her nieces, Kendra Isfjord, Joanne Cymbalisty and her great-nephew Alexander Josephson. Mom was born on April 1, 1934 in Gimli, Manitoba. On August 9, 1952 she married her sweetheart Walter and together they raised their six children in their home in Gimli. Mom was raised on the family farm Fjon, with her eight brothers and sisters whom she shared a very special bond with. At the young age of 15, Mom worked with the Nuns at the Johnson Memorial Hospital. In later years, along with her sister Thelma, she completed a Nurses Aide Course and worked at the Betel Home Foundation. After retiring, she worked alongside Dad in his fishing business. Mom loved when Dad took her for their morning, noon and evening drive around Gimli and also their adventures to the West Coast. She loved all types of birds and made sure they were fed every day. Mom had a passion for helping other people, which she so proudly passed on to her children. She had the need to nurture and feed everyone who came to her little house. Our Mom was fondly known to all our friends as Mom and Amma; she will be fondly remembered by all. A memorial service will be held at the Gimli Lutheran Church on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Jaycen Snider officiating. A private graveside service will be held in the Spring. Honourary pallbearers will be her precious grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dr. R.C. Patel and Dr. S.V. Patel for their kindness and care of our Mom. Thank you to the nurses and staff of the Gimli Community Health Centre for truly treating our Mom like their own. In lieu of flowers, if your Mother is still with you, tell her you love her and give her a kiss. Dear Mom, Your Christmas tree is up and we will make sure your Christmas lights are on. We love you and Dad so very much and are so happy you are together once again. Love Linda, Carol, Cindy, Wanda, Mona and Steven. NEIL BARDAL INC. 204-949-2200 nbardal.mb.ca
