VIOLET MARION BOZYK (nee DAVIS) Sadly the family announces the passing of Violet Bozyk, who fell asleep in the Lord on Thursday, December 18, 2008 in Vita, Manitoba at the hospital at which she nursed for many years. Vi was predeceased by her mother Edna Pears and her father Richard (Dick) Davis, son Robert George in infancy, sisters Bea Davis and Arlene Schofield in 1988, and Jean Davis in 1997. Vi will lovingly be remembered by her husband of 55 years, Nestor; her children Very Reverend Ronald Bozyk (Genia), Vera Gusnoski (Raymond), Susan Purcell (Kevin), her grandchildren Christopher, Corinne, Colleen Gusnoski, Eric and Evan Purcell. Vi was born on February 7, 1927 in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba and spent her childhood in the MacGregor area. In 1948, Vi graduated from the Children's Hospital of Winnipeg as a registered nurse. She moved to Vita and met Nestor. They were married on April 25, 1953. Vi spent the major part of her nursing career serving many years as Administrator of the Vita Hospital. She retired from nursing at Central Park Lodge in Winnipeg. Panakhyda Memorial Prayers will be held on Sunday, December 21 at 7:00 p.m. at the Vita Funeral Homes Vita Chapel Vita, Manitoba. Funeral Services will be on Monday, December 22 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Vita, Manitoba.
