TERRENCE ALAN BURZUIK It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our loving husband, father, papa, son, brother, uncle, and friend on Wednesday, December 17th, 2008 at the age of 52 years, after a courageous and hard fought battle with cancer. Terry will be forever remembered and cherished by all of his beautiful girls; his beloved wife of 29 years, Diana (nee Kinast), daughters Karlene (Larry) Johannson, Kendra (C.J) and Kelly, granddaughters Larissa and Sophia, who brought such joy to his life and were his little rays of sunshine during his illness, and his dear little dog Lacey. He will also be lovingly remembered by his mother Dorothy Burzuik, sisters Sharon (Len) Panasky, Angela (Grant) Settee, brothers Ken, Dale (Marge), Kim (Jackie), in-laws, Ursula Kinast, Evelyn (Richard), Henry (Deb), Ernie (Lori), Leona, Gerald (Sherri), and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father Peter Burzuik in 1972, father-in-law Lothar Kinast in 2000 and his brother-in-law and great friend Lorne Vopni in August 2008. We know Lorne has been busy scouting out all the good fishing spots awaiting Terry's arrival. Terry was born November 29, 1956 in Selkirk and attended school at Mapleton and Selkirk. He was employed with Amsco Cast Products (Abex) since 1975. He married Diana in 1979 and they spent many wonderful years taking family vacations with the girls such as camping and road trips to Alberta, Ontario and the U.S. His specialty was cooking Sunday breakfast every week for the family. Later, after the girls were grown, he and Diana enjoyed several trips on their own to Las Vegas, Seattle and BC. He enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, bicycles, and his special weekly get-togethers with his brothers and friends, appropriately named Thirsty Thursdays . Several years ago he and Diana finally moved back to Terry's old stomping grounds and were looking forward to spending their eventual retirement years there. He truly loved his family and looked forward to any occasion to have a party. He liked to create things, always thinking of his next project to begin. We all have a little piece of him in the many plant stands and fire pits he had created. Terry was a man of little words but always managed to get his point across in his quiet, unassuming way. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating Terry's life will be held on Saturday, December 20 at 1:00 p.m. in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 6088PTH 9A, Selkirk with The Ven. Godfrey Mawejje officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Bob Still, Enos Comeau, Larry Johannson Jr, C.J Loane, Len Panasky and Grant Settee. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Chemo Unit at the Selkirk District General Hospital, Box 5000, Selkirk, MB R1A 2M2. Terry so appreciated the kindness and caring shown by the staff there. The family would also like to thank Dr. Lindenschmidt and Bev and the nurses on the surgery ward at the Selkirk Hospital for all your kindness and excellent care. REST IN PEACE DARLING/DAD/PAPA - YOU FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
