MARGARET MURIEL MAJA OLIVER It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister on December 18, 2008 at the age of 95 years. Born March 15, 1913 in Poplar Point, MB. She lived and farmed in Lake Francis for many years with her late husband William, moving to Oak Park Estates for the last three years which she truly enjoyed. Left to mourn her passing are her six daughters Doreen Hill, Audrey MacMillian (Bruce), Eileen Fudge (Albert), Shirley Calvez (Albert), Florence Hallett (Bill), Linda King (Willie); her six sons John, Elmer (Gwen), Lawrence, Leonard (Anita), Edgar and Willie (Joanne); there are 30 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren; also her siblings Grace, Phyllis, Robert, David, Alice and Evelyn. Maja was predeceased by her husband William in 1990; son-in-law Robert Hill in 2005; and brothers Alder, Lloyd and Dan. Mom was a warm and caring person who had a good sense of humour which she maintained to the end. Her family meant everything to her. She was patient and understanding, always making time for us and enjoying our visits. When her children married, their spouses were not in-laws, just more daughters and sons. She was the best mother-in-law anyone could hope for. She did not judge people but accepted each for who they were. Mom worked very hard on the farm raising a large family, milking cows, working in the garden, baking bread along with many other chores. We would like to thank the people in Oakwood Estates for the kindness to Mom and the Stonewall Hospital for their compassion and care. In accordance with mom's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Monday, December 22, 2008 at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall at 1:30 p.m. Friends who so desire may make a donation of your choice. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
