DONALD STEWART CAMERON Don, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2008 in the company of his loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Cathy, daughters Heather (Jonathan) Dutkiewicz, Kerrie; and brothers Jack (Elsie) and Rod (Deanna). He was predeceased by his parents, Murd and Beatrice Cameron, and brothers Alec and Laurie. Don spent many years in the heavy construction industry and displayed the highest of work standards. He was a very free spirited person and hitchhiked across Canada several times. Although Don was a man of few words, he was always able to bring a smile to everyone's face, make light of any situation, and kept his dry sense of humour until the very end. Don was very proud of his beautiful daughters and their accomplishments, often joking We must have done something right! He was also very proud of his five and one-half years of sobriety. From the time the girls were little, Sundays were always Family days, and Cathy and Don continued to enjoy their Sunday drives and excursions even after the girls were grown. The family would like to thank Cathy's friends and co-workers at McDonalds on Reenders for their support and for holding a car wash to raise funds for Don's trips to Edmonton for treatments. We would also like to thank Don's buddies at Cox Construction for their gifts to Don, their support and for coming to the car wash in all their red trucks and donating generously. Also thanks to Dr. Ralph Wong at CancerCare, and Dr. Smiley at Cross Cancer in Edmonton. As per Don's wishes, cremation has taken place and memorial service celebrating his life will be held Monday, December 22, 2008, 10:00 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to CancerCare 675 McDermot Ave. for Melanoma Research. Good nit shish ta blitz morning comes a trunda Arrangements entrusted to: KLASSEN FUNERAL HOME 1897 Henderson Hwy. 338-0331 Send expressions of sympathy at www.mem.com.
