E. VIOLET HAZLE It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Violet Hazle, at 98 years of age, on December 18, 2008, at Riverview Health Centre. Family members were at her side. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by daughter Gail (Jack McKay); son Clark (Ivy) Hicks and daughter-in-law Pat Hicks. Also surviving are grandchildren, Lynn Schellenberg, Kelly (Julie) Hicks, Shawna (Myron) Pearman, Ken (Melinda) McKay, Patsy McKay, Karen Zoeler; 18 great-grandchildren, seven great great-grandchildren and two brothers-in-law. Violet was predeceased by husband Raymond; son John Hicks; grandson Collin Hicks and great-grandson Brian Schellenberg. Also predeceased by two brothers and one sister. Born in Killarney December 17, 1910, youngest daughter of George and Sarah Crawford. Married to Raymond A. Hazle on December 27, 1947. She was a faithful member of Harrow United Church for 60 years and worked tirelessly at the church functions. Violet was also involved in Home League at the Salvation Army, E.K. Corps for many years. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. If friends so wish, donations may be made to Riverview Health Centre, #1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3L 2P4.
