Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCARMELO DELLOSPEDALE-ALONGI On December 20, 2008, with his family by his side, Carmelo Dellospedale-Alongi, passed away peacefully, in his sleep, to join his loving wife and life partner Vincenza. Carmelo was born on September 2, 1920 in Calascibetta (Sicily) Italy. Carmelo came to Winnipeg in 1957 with his wife and children to provide them with a better life and future as he did. He had a great passion for his garden and was a fantastic story teller. Most of all he enjoyed spending his time with his daughters and grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife Vincenza; and will be sadly missed by his daughters, Franca (Francesco Lionetti), Rita Dellospedale-Alongi; granddaughters, Maddalena (Helder Calheiros), Loredana (Saro Ciresi) and a beautiful new great-grandson Andreas. Also, survived by his sisters, Santina (Italy), Suora Lucia (Italy); brothers, Emanuele (Lucia) (Italy), Mario (Filippa) (Winnipeg) and sister-in-law Francesca Folisi. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 p.m. with Father Sam Argenzio. Entombment to follow at the Waverley Memorial Gardens and Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum, 1501 Waverley Street. Pallbearers will be: Carmelo Alongi, Gero Alongi, Maurizio Alongi, Riccardo Alongi, Domenico Scarpino and Giuseppe Lionetti. We would like to thank the staff at the Intensive Care Unit at the Grace Hospital, as well as, the staff on the 5th floor, for all the care and support that they provided.
