EDWARD JERRY POLAK With great sadness, we announce the passing of Edward Polak on December 20, 2008 in his home. Ed is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kathryn; children, Gwen, Garry (Debbie), Patricia (Gordon); special grand-daughters, Jennifer, Kristin, Brittany. He is also survived by his sister Blanche (Hugh); sisters-in-law, Dolly, Ruth and Mavis (Lloyd), Tania and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Karl and Emily; his sisters, Martha, Violet and brother Donald; in-laws Marjorie, Jim, Shaen, Laddie, Gordon, Louis. Born in Kolin, Saskatchewan on July 9, 1936, Ed moved to Winnipeg with his family in 1944. He worked as an accountant for the firms of Crown Zellerbach, Standard Aero and Robindale Enterprises. In his younger years Ed enjoyed curling, bowling and playing golf. He loved spending time with his children, granddaughters and friends. The family want to thank all who helped them in their time of need. In keeping with Ed's wishes cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.
