JOHN (JACK) MURRAY ATKINSON It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved husband and Dad, Jack, on December 21, 2008, at the age of 81. He leaves to mourn his death, wife Eileen (nee Morrison), of 57 years; sons, Dale (Karen), John (Cindy) and daughter Joy (Tony); grandchildren: Matthew, Brooke, Megan, Brittany, Blair and Nikki. He will also be missed by his brothers, Keith, of Memphis, TN, Ken (Corinne) and his sister Pat (Ed) Andrukow, of Calgary, AB, as well as, many nieces and nephews. Jack was employed at Agriculture Canada for 35 years. He retired in 1989 and spent most of those years enjoying time at his cottage at Brereton Lake with family and friends fishing and puttering around. He also spent much of his retirement years restoring his 1910 Model T and was a lifetime member of the Manitoba Antique Car Club. Jack lived up to the name Jack-of-all-trades and helped his family and friends with many renovations and projects. He was a quiet man and was our hero. He will be deeply missed by his family. Thank you to all the nurses and aides on GH-4 at HSC for the care you provided Dad and a special thank you to Dr. Brian Penner for your compassion and support. A private family service has been planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB, R3T 0R3 or a charity of one's choice.
