DONALD FRASER March 2, 1934 - December 19, 2008 It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Marv Fraser, at home, with his family by his side. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of fifty years, Elsie. He is survived by his children, Don (Sue), Bill (Lisa) and Jackie (Blair); as well, five grandchildren, Stephanie (Jeff), Amanda, Michael, Zachery, Ryan and great-grandchild Dylan; plus numerous relatives and a very special person dear to him, Irene. He was predeceased by his parents, Agnes and Don and sister Barbara Kowbel. Marv met the love of his life in 1955 when both were working at Eaton's and were married August 9th, 1958. After Eaton's, he continued working in sales until he started his career with Canada Post. From 1951-1953 he served in the 402 Reserve Squadron. After Marv and Elsie moved into their home in 1964, he joined the ANAF #283. He was very proud to have served twenty-five consecutive years on the executive council, two of those as President. Marv received various recognitions during this time, including a Life Membership, American Amnesty, Certificate of Appreciation and the Order For Service in July 1998, this being the second highest award in the Association. Marv was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He looked forward to Sunday dinners at home spending time with family, especially, his grandchildren, and of course, his canine grandkids. For all that knew him will remember all the great times he and Elsie spent together with their friends over the years. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. There will be a memorial service followed by a gathering of friends on Monday, December 29th at 2:00 p.m. at the ANAF #283 located at 3584 Portage Avenue. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or The Humane Society. Your loss to earth is Heaven's gain; you will be forever in our hearts!
