LORETTA ROBINSON (LAPOINTE) (nee MULLIGAN) Loretta passed away peacefully on Friday, December 26, 2008 at the Riverview Health Centre. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband John, her daughter Diane Weitzel (Kirby), son Gord (Stella and children David, Marc and Jillian), daughter Cathy Lapointe (Chuck Mulvenna and daughter Alex), son Patrick (Isobel and daughter Candice) and son Paul (Thorna and children Natalia and London). Loretta was born on April 17, 1921, in Dauphin, Manitoba where she received her schooling and worked for a time at Western Grocers. On June 17th, 1948 she married Joseph M. Lapointe, who was a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Loretta and Joe lived happily in several communities in Manitoba, raising a great family, who are now living in various communities in Canada and United State. Sadly Joe died on August 13, 1974 leaving Loretta to raise a youthful family and she worked for a number of years at Revenue Canada. On September 23, 1989, Loretta married John Robinson whom she had known since childhood in Dauphin. They have since enjoyed a happy life in Winnipeg and in close contact with Loretta's family and John's two daughters. Loretta was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Estelle Mulligan, her four brothers, Gordon, Leonard, Ronald and Augus as well as Joe's parents Louis and Beatrice Lapointe, her brother-in-law Louis Lapointe and sister-in-law's Teresa Lapointe, Amy Mulligan, Emily Mulligan and Laura Mulligan. Loretta was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, wife and friend. She always put family first and will be remembered as a selfless woman who made sure that everyone was taken care of before herself. Loretta had many fun times with the Henday Group and appreciated their friendship and support over the years. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Riverview Health Centre, 4th Floor East Wing. A celebration of Loretta's life will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at John XX111 Roman Catholic Church, Assiniboia Christian Centre, 3390 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers donations in Loretta's memory may be made to Riverview Health Foundation, 1 Morley Ave, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3L 2P4.
