JOHN A. MARTENS John Martens passed away peacefully December 27, 2008 at Oakview Extendicare Care Home, Winnipeg, MB at the age of 81 years. John grew up in Rivers, Mb and spent most of his married life in Winnipeg, MB. John was a career Manitoba Hydro employee, where he retired from in 1984. He also continued to own and operate a small grain farm in the Rivers area until the late 1990s. International traveling with his wife Lena was a highlight for him. He was predeceased by his wife Lena, (nee Engbrecht) on December 14, 2008. He is survived by his children Albert (Penny) and grandsons (Brett and Keith) of Pentiction, BC, Janet of Scotland, and Eric (Ruth) of Invermere, BC. Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Good News Mennonite Church, Ness Ave., Winnipeg with viewing prior to the service. Internment Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the Rivers Mennonite Church Cemetery.
