Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM STRUSS William Struss, aged 98 years, passed away peacefully in his daughter's arms, surrounded by his family at his home on Christmas Day, December 25, 2008. He was born on Ukrainian Christmas Day, January 7, 1910. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family: his sons Gordon of Beausejour, Ken (Norma) of Cloverdale, BC, his daughter Linda (Jim Bartsch) of Winnipeg and his son Edward of Beausejour, his grandsons Jason and Robert and his great-grandson Braiden, his great-granddaughter Violet, his great-grandson Hunter and his great-granddaughter Jessa, his brother Paul (Helen) of Detroit, Michigan, brother-in-law Dave Hollett of San Diego, California, sisters-in-law Anne Struss of Langley, BC and Augusta Struss of Beausejour also numerous nieces and nephews of whom he loved so much. He was predeceased by his wife Ada in 1996, his parents John and Anastasia, his brothers Joseph (Mary), Stanley (Sophie), Frank, Andy (Rooney), John (Anne), Peter (Millie) and Edward, his sisters Kay Underwood (Greg) and Mary Labossiere (Leopold). Prayers were said on Monday, December 29 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue East, Beausejour. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday (Today), December 30 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 516 Atlantic Avenue, Beausejour with Rev. Fr. Mark Drozniak presiding. Interment will follow in the Beausejour Town Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations in William's memory may be made to the Adult Day Program, c/o East Gate Lodge, Box 1690, Beausejour, MB, R0E 0C0. The family wishes to thank Dr. Kassis, the Health Care Coordinators, the Home Care Workers, volunteers of the Meals on Wheels Program, Heather and Donna of the Adult Day Program and Doraine Bauschke, who all made his last years safe and enjoyable.
