Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONALD MORRISON ECKERT After fiercely battling heart disease and its many complications, Donald passed away quietly on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at St. Boniface Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents Leslie (1955) and Mabel (1976) and his youngest grandson Matthew (2002). He will be remembered with love and great admiration by his beloved wife Marjorie, his children Gail, Shirley and Gordon, his adored grandchildren Alastair, Stuart, Katherine, Madeline and Margaret and his two wee great-granddaughters Evelyn and Amelia. Cameron his brother, Helen his sister and Ant his sister-in-law extraordinaire, plus a multitude of extended family and friends are going to miss his laughter, his immense pride in his family and the chaos that only he could create. Donald was born in Winnipeg, April 27, 1927 and lived all but two years here. He was a Manufacturers Representative for over 50 years travelling from Thunder Bay to Victoria and making friends wherever he went. He was held in the highest regard by his customers, his fellow travellers and the firms he so capably represented. A service of remembrance will take place on Wednesday, December 31st, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Andrew's River Heights United Church, Oak Street at Kingsway Avenue, where Donald worshipped his whole life. Elevator access is available at 255 Oak Street. Flowers are gratefully declined but if friends so wish, memorials could be directed to the St. Andrews River Heights United Church Foundation, 255 Oak Street, Winnipeg R3M 3P7 or to a charity of your choice. Our family is most grateful for all of the wonderful care Donald has received over the years from so many members of the medical community. We especially want to thank Dr. Neal Z. Lerner who guided us with such great care and compassion through the first ten years when so often it was touch and go . Donald always said that with God and Dr. Lerner on his side he couldn't lose.
