CLARENCE ALEXANDER MANN It is with great sorrow that we announce that Clarence Mann, passed away, on December 26, 2008, at the Seven Oaks General Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, Sigrid and Lauchlin; and by his sister Margaret. Clarence is lovingly remembered by his wife Mary Lou; daughter Robin (Drew), of Calgary; sons, Wayne (MaryAnn), of Hinton, Tim, of Chilliwack, and Terry (Annette), of Hinton. He leaves to mourn grandchildren, Sean, Rory, Kathy, Gillian, Riley; and great-grandson Ty. He is survived by his sister Dorothy, brother Jack and numerous nieces and nephews. Clarence was born on July 18, 1928. He grew up in Sioux Lookout, Ontario, where he met and married Mary Lou Crann in 1952. Clare had a long and distinguished career with the Hudson Bay Company Northern Stores. He started work right out of high school as a stock boy and continued with the company for 45 years, until his retirement in 1990 as Vice President, General Manager Western Region. Clare spent numerous hours flying across Canada and had fond memories of the North, staff and friends he visited. Between 1956 and 1990 the family lived in Sioux Lookout, Atikokan, Terrace Bay, Nipigon, Flin Flon, Winnipeg and Edmonton. They made life-long friends wherever they resided. Following his retirement, Clare was finally able to relax. He and Mary Lou spent summers at their cabin in Sioux Lookout and their winters in Arizona. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and gardening. Above all, he liked to entertain and their homes were always welcoming places for friends and family. The family would like to thank the staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital, 3rd Floor, unit 12, for their compassion and caring. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2009 at 3:00 p.m., at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg.
