Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUTH GREIG (LERCH) Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Ruth (Gertrude) Greig, passed away, peacefully, on December 25, 2008, at the age of 76 years. Ruth was born in Manitou, Manitoba on October 18, 1932. She was married on September 12, 1953 to Gavin Greig, raising their three children in Winnipeg. Mom enjoyed reading books from world history, politics, and astronomy, to plants and gardening, crosswords, and listening to music from Dylan to Mozart. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's hockey and ringette games, and was also a fan of the Blue Bombers and Winnipeg Jets. Mom loved growing flowers, and created beautiful gardens around her home every summer. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered. Ruth was predeceased by her parents, Euphrosine and Adolf Lerch; her beloved husband, of 52 years of marriage, Gavin; her brother Herb Lerch; brother-in law Bob Hay; and sister Evelyn Luft. Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Ken Greig (Jan), Sharon Kirsch (Dan), and Caroline Greig; her grandchildren, Scott (Crystal), Kevin and Kristy Greig, Kerry Fredborg (Travis) and Jayne Kirsch and great-granddaughter Ava Greig; her brothers, Walter Lerch (Dorothy) and Arnold Lerch (Betty); sisters, Elsie Hay, Shirley Chernenkoff (Fred), Janet Gunn (Richard); brother-in-law Herman Luft; sisters-in-law, Betty Lerch, Joann Greig, and Jean Greig; numerous nephews and nieces; and longtime friend and neighbour Helen Skidmore. The family wishes to thank the caring people at Bethania Personal Care Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society at www.alzheimer.ca A private service will be held for the family on December 31. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
