ROBERT BETTS Following a battle with cancer, on Saturday, December 27, 2008, at the Seven Oaks Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Robert Betts, passed away, at the age of 55 years. Bob is survived by his loving wife, of 24 years, Lorraine; daughter Melissa (Mike); son Jeffrey (Debbie); grandchildren, Stephen, Shania, Marcus; mother Blanche; sisters, Louise Morrison (Jim), Gisele; brother David (Nancy) and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob is also survived by his step-children, Dean Paulson (Tracy), Lisa Ungarian (Jason) and grandchildren, Joshua and Chelsea Paulson. Bob was predeceased by his father in 1996. Bob was born in Whitehorse, Yukon and grew up on air force bases in Canada and France. He was the one in the family who always managed to get caught when trouble was brewing. He was the joker, and the life of the party at many events. He worked for Safeway, in Winnipeg, for 27 years. He loved golf, reading, family camping trips, and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He retired to Vernon, BC in 1998, where he enjoyed many days playing golf. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Funeral Service will be held at the Mosaic Funeral Chapel, on Friday, January 2, 2009, at 11:00 a.m., located at 1839 Inkster Blvd (corner of Inkster and Keewatin). Interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The War Amps.
