JACK RODYCH After a lengthy illness, Jack Rodych, passed away, on Sunday, December 28, 2008, at the age of 63 years. Jack remained positive throughout his illness and never gave up the hope of recovery. Jack leaves to mourn his wife Darlene; children, Ron (Tracy), Lorelei, James (Sonia), Jody (Ginette), Daniel (Tanya), Lee-Ann (Eric) and Bryan; 16 grandchildren, Tyler, Tate, Jesse, Clayton, Devon, Jaden, Sierra, Matthew, Nicholas, Brenda, Timothy, Melissa, Abby, Kobe, Jaymie-Lin and newborn Noah Jack. He also leaves his mom Pauline; and siblings, Cherle, Dennis, Tim, Kenny, Randy, Sylvia, Connie, Violet, Marianne; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as, his mother-in-law Anne, who kept him company and fed him well for many months during his illness; and in-laws, Dianne (Paul), Jane (John), Hilda and all their children. Jack was predeceased by his grandparents/ adoptive parents, Mary and Nicholas Rodych; uncle Pete, brother Jim and brother-in-law Larry. Jack was born in Winnipeg, raised in Fraserwood and attended Gimli High School. His first job was at Fort Ignition, followed by delivery jobs for Standard Dairies, Modern Dairies, McGavin's, Kildonan Auto, Aime's Auto, part time at Wal-Mart in Automotive and Direct Auto. He retired in April 2005 due to illness. Jack was known for his love of music, rock-a-billie and country, particularly, Elvis, Ral Donner, Johnny Cash, Hank Snow and Ricky Nelson. He was a master at guitar playing and singing. He taught countless people to play the guitar and was so proud of each student. He was the last surviving member of the Happy Trio, and also sang with Jackson County, Misled, Ltd. Ed., a scrap band with son Jody and Jack Daniels, a two-piece group with son Daniel. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Andrew Maksimiuk and staff at CancerCare, in Winnipeg, for their care and compassion. Also thanks to Dr. I. Khalil and staff of Portage Clinic and all the angels at PDGH, who took excellent care of Jack, and for their patience and understanding during Jack's illness. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 2, 2009 at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave. (Aubrey Street entrance). Viewing one hour prior to the service.
