Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBRIAN COVE On Friday, December 26, 2008, Brian Cove, at the age of 77, passed away, at Deer Lodge Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Brian was predeceased by his father, CSM Thomas A. Cove M. M. and mother Alice E. Cove; brothers, Martin and George; first wife Eleanor and second wife Josephine. Left to cherish his memory are his children, in Winnipeg, David (Linda), Donald (Margaret), James (Sheila), and Cathy (Ken), of Kanata, ON; and grandchildren, Maveick, Samantha, Brady, Tasha, Cameron and Andrea. He also leaves behind brothers, Ted (Anne), of Winnipeg, Thomas (Helen), of Victoria, BC; sisters, Doris Lindsay and Doreen Barrott, of Winnipeg, Patricia (Roy) Harris, of London, ON and Alice Evelyn (Bill) Reynolds, of Guelph, ON. Dad was born February 8, 1931 in Grenfell, SK. After completing his education in Grenfell, Brian proudly joined the Canadian Army in 1950 and served from 1952 to 1953 with the United Nations forces in Korea. After his honourable discharge, Dad moved to Winnipeg. From that time, until his retirement in 1991, Brian was employed with International Harvester Farm Equipment, Brooks Equipment Limited, Cummins Diesel Sales and Service Limited and Prairie Equipment. Brian was an active member in the community and proud life member of St. John's #4 Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Khartum Shrine Temple, Khartum Shrine Temple Patrol and member of the Korean Veterans Association Unit #17. Dad enjoyed spending time snowmobiling, spending summers renovating the cottage, doing crosswords and travelling. He was happiest when he had a busy mind and hands. It was most difficult and frustrating for him in his final years when his dementia and diabetes took this away from him. A memorial service is to be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 256 Smith St. The family extends their thanks to all of the staff at Deer Lodge Centre, especially, in T3 for their tender loving care of Dad. A special thank you to Carol Barrott, our cousin and Brian's niece, who gave selflessly of herself seeing to Dad's needs over the last few years. Words cannot begin to express our gratitude to her. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to a charity of one's choice. NEIL BARDAL INC. 204-949-2200 nbardal.mb.ca
