Katherine was predeceased by her parents Henry and Katherina Hauser, as well as her siblings and their spouses; brothers Henry (Olga), Philip (Emma), John (Amy) and sister Elizabeth (William). She was also predeceased by special niece June Zeivel. Katherine was born March 9, 1923 in Winnipeg, the youngest of five children, and enjoyed a warm and happy family life. She attended Anna Gibson and Lord Selkirk schools as well as the Angus School of Commerce. She was employed at the State Board of Equalization in Helena, Montana and worked for Viking Fire Protection in Chicago for 20 years, prior to returning to Winnipeg in 1974. Music was one of Katherine's favourite pastimes. She loved to sing, had a beautiful voice, and sang with several choirs over the years. Her budgie, Lucy, was serenaded daily. Katherine loved to travel and took great joy in her trips to Las Vegas. She also loved to read, and persisted even when her failing eyesight made reading difficult. Left to mourn her passing are three generations of nieces and nephews; Gail Osted (Hans), Bruce Hauser (Shirl), Carol Hauser of Calgary, Pearl Hauser of Victoria , John Schultz (Maureen) of Palm Desert, CA, Lauren and Julie Hauser, Denise (Rolf) and Hans Osted, Jennifer Floss (Joe) of Coralville, IA, Jim Zeivel Jr. of Chicago, IL, Dr. Pamela Blackstone and Valerie Konjoyan (Edward) of Los Angeles, CA. Auntie Kay especially loved her babies Madison and Sadie Floss and Edward and Elizabeth Konjoyan. Katherine is also survived by sister-in-law Roberta Clinton of Helena, MT. Katherine wished to thank the following; Gail for all her love and constant care throughout the years, Carol for her love and thoughtfulness (especially the summer trips to Gimli), longtime friend Edna Lentle for a friendship that never waned for over 60 years, Bob and Hazel Bowker for being such wonderful neighbours, and Debbie Sheeshka and husband Larry for their caring friendship. Thanks also to new found friend Dorothy Grainger, who willingly lent a hand when Kay was undergoing many eye surgeries.
