Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDELORES ELVIRA ORLESKY (nee HONKE) Peacefully on December 29, 2008 at the Health Sciences Centre, after a long battle with cancer, Delores passed away at the age of 71. She will be forever missed by her husband Eric of 56 years; her sons Keith (Darcy), Craig (Wanda), Scott (Jinay); and grandchildren, Toril, Lucas, Katherine, Ryan and Lisa. She also leaves to mourn her mother Lydia, sister Marjorie (Marvin), her brother Lloyd and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Andrew and brother Randolph (Gwen). Delores was born in Vernon, B.C. January 1, 1937 and moved with family to Manitoba in 1938. Delores excelled as a student and athlete and was very helpful around the house helping to raise her younger brother until she met and married Eric September 13, 1952. Raising her three sons, she encouraged them to participate in many different school and community sports and was always involved in community club and Boy Scout executives. Delores spent many hours cheering on her sons' teams and her voice carried well above many others. As her family matured she also worked tirelessly as a seamstress making many bridesmaid gowns and later worked at the head office of A.E. Lepage and at Boeing of Canada in Winnipeg. She was very proud of her work at both establishments. Her favourite family events were the many trips taken to the Sandilands for blueberry/mushroom picking and the barbecues held at the end of the day. A family celebration of her life has already taken place and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
