WILLIAM (BILL) YACHISON January 13, 1943 January 1, 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Bill, at home with his family at his side, after a year long battle with cancer. He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife Jane, children; Tanis (Rob), Ken (Deb), and his precious grandchildren; Taylor, Corbyn, William (Billy), and Daniel. Also left to mourn his passing are his brothers Mike and Henry (Anne), and sister Pauline (Vic), in-laws; Irene (Herb), Margaret, Doreen (Bob), Denise (Wes), Ron (Darlene), Judy as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Bill was predeceased by his parents Michael and Mary, and many other loving family members. His loving Blah (Mary Cnockaert) followed him on January 2, 2009. Bill was born in Winnipeg and lived on both Grosvenor Ave. and Maryland Street until his early teens, he then moved to St. Boniface where he spent his adult life. For Bill life was all about family, he was at his happiest if he could be giving someone a helping hand. For many years Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing trips with his friends, grocery and bargain shopping (which was never the same without Moe), and Sunday R R days of NFL football. Bill worked for AEI Telecommunications, Canada Wire and Cable, with his brothers at Yachison Electric, and at the Norwood Legion from which he went on to retire. Upon retirement Bill found he needed another project to tackle and bought the Grange in the country. This was a huge project, but one he enjoyed working on with family and beers. Even in sickness he managed to do a lot of work himself. The family would like to thank Drs. P.G Mehta, L. Tan, A. Leylek, and the nurses of palliative care for the care, compassion, and support he received during this difficult time. Many thanks also to family and friends for their comfort, support and just being there, it was greatly appreciated. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Bill's life will be held on Tuesday, January 6 at 1:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street, with Father John Mostivsky Officiating. A private family burial will follow at a later date. May you and mom walk the long road home together. Till we meet again, Love Peace. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J COUTU CO.
