MURRAY WINNINGTON LAWSON December 30, 1931 - January 2, 2009 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Murray Lawson at the Grace General Hospital on Friday, January 2, 2009 at the age of 77 years. Murray was predeceased by his wife Elaine, parents John and Martha Laubenstein, his sister Thelma, brothers Winston, Lorne; sister-in-law Joan and mother and father-in-law Robert and Olive Hanley. Dad will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Nancy and her husband Brian, son Dave and his wife Teresa, grandchildren Andy, Nick, Dillon and special friend Joanne. He will also be greatly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Murray was born in Winnipeg, grew up in River Heights and graduated from Kelvin High School. Dad was a hard working man and had a fulfilling career running his business Winnipeg Book Bindery for over 45 years. Dad was a caring and generous person who contributed to many charities and organizations. He was also an active member of Kiwanis for many years. The family cabin at Falcon Lake was Murray's favorite place. Many summers were spent there working on projects and spending time with family and friends. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. If friends desire, donations in Murray's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or to Winnserv Inc. 101-960 Portage Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3G 0R2 Chapel Lawn 885 - 9715

  • Murray has been in my thoughts for many years. He meant a lot to me and helped me deal with life in many situations.
