Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLAURENCE SCOTT 1914 - 2008 Peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, Laurie, passed away, on Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at the Deer Lodge Centre, at the age of 94 years. Remaining to forever cherish Laurie's memory are his loving wife Joan; and her children; Bob (Debby), Dennis, Jacqui (Derek), Suzanne (Roy), David (Janette) and Marianne (Terry); along with his eleven grandchildren, Lindsay, Christine, Laura, Trevor, Stephen, Gary, Helen, Johanna, Louise, Graeme, Jason; and eleven great-grandchildren; his daughter Madeline and grandchildren, Hazel and Heather, of London, England; as well as, numerous nieces and nephews; along with their families. Laurie was predeceased by his parents, Bertie and Mabel; as well as, his brothers; Ron, Sid, Reuben; and his sister Hilda. Born in Tottenham, England, Laurie served in the Army during the Second World War and upon discharge drove buses in London where he met Joan. At the age of 58, he moved to Winnipeg, where he worked at Eaton's before joining the Commissionaires, where he worked until work interfered with his trips around the world. Diagnosed with Alzheimer's, Laurie left Kiwanis Court, in 2003, and resided with his fellow veterans on Tower 5 at Deer Lodge Centre, until his passing. His family would like to thank all the staff of Tower 5 for their care and attention to Laurie's needs over the past five years. A memorial service is scheduled on Friday, January 9, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. in the Worship Centre at Deer Lodge Centre, 2109 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3J 0L3. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Laurie's name, to the Deer Lodge Foundation or a charity of your choice.
