JACOB F. WIENS Jacob Frank Wiens, aged 96, of Winnipeg, formerly of Glenlea, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2009, surrounded by his family. Dad was predeceased by his wife, Mary (Rogalsky). He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Edward (Trudy); daughter Susan (Henry Bergmann); son Ernie (Charlotte); daughter Hildie (Dave Regehr); and daughter, Laura (Eric Unger); with 31 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He is survived by five brothers, two sisters and their families. Dad was a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather. His love of the land on which he raised his family, his faith in God, and his commitment to the church were evident throughout his life. The funeral service for Jacob F. Wiens will be held Tuesday, January 6, at 2:00 p.m. in the Glenlea Mennonite Church, with interment to follow at the Glenlea cemetery. The family extends its deepest gratitude for the faithful and loving service provided to Jacob by the staff at St. Norbert Personal Care Home, and the staff and Home Care workers at Lindenwood Manor. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee or Mennonite Collegiate Institute. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.
