EDITH GLADYS CAPRI 1924 - 2009 It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Edith Gladys Capri at the age of 84 years on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Grace Hospital. Edith was born to the late Herbert and Millie Notter on December 12, 1924 in Rainy River, Ontario. She was the youngest of five children. Edith was predeceased in 1985 by Louis, her husband of 41 years; her sisters Dorothy (Earl) Martin and Connie (Cyril) Carter; and her brothers George (Betty) Notter and Leslie Notter. She is survived by her loving son Ramon (Wendy), grandsons Jesse and Kyle, loving son Richard (Phyllis), granddaughter Andrea (Will) Cuccaro, great-granddaughter Alexandra, granddaughter Jennifer Capri and great granddaughter Daniella. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Ernie (June) Capri and numerous nieces and nephews. Edith moved to Winnipeg to attend business college and worked in accounting for many years. She worked for the Manitoba Securities Commission for 10 years prior to her retirement in 1990. She kept active after retirement with the Hamilton House Tenants Association and enjoyed activities such as bingo, playing cards and crossword puzzles. Edith also enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas and vacations in Cuba with special friends until health problems made it too difficult to continue. Edith had a good sense of humour and a positive attitude about life even as declining health made her daily activities difficult. Thank you to four of her special friends, Tom and Sophie Owen and Ed and Jenny Carter. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Edith's memory to the Arthritis Society, 105 - 386 Broadway, R3C 3R6. Memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue on Friday, January 9, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
