Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHAZEL ZEEMEL (nee MATHEWS) 1939 - 2009 Hazel passed away on January 3, 2009 with her loving husband of 42 years by her side. Hazel was predeceased by her mother, Christina, mother and father-in-law, Leah and Rudy Zeemel, and sister-in-law Eleanor Zeemel. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Wayne Tiny , her three children, Jacinda (Randy), Bruce (Iyrna with Mischa, Illya), David (Trish), grandchildren, Tyler and Reese, siblings Alice, Clarence (Gale), Kenny (Bonnie), Donnie, Eleanor, Brian (Terry), also her nieces Melissa (Cory), Patty (Edward) along with many nieces, nephews and extended family. Hazel's family was a huge part of her life and she was a devoted wife and mother. Her home and her heart were always open to all. Hazel and her family were a foster family for many years. While raising her family Hazel had worked in Tupperware and later worked as an accountant retiring a few years ago. She returned to school in 1988 for her high school diploma and in 1998 took computer courses telling us You're never too YOUNG to learn . She loved camping and particularly enjoyed her niece's summer family retreat in Lac du Bonnet. In the last few years she captained a team for CancerCare Relay for Life. Hazel had an optimistic outlook and warm nature throughout her life. The family wishes to especially thank Dr. Snider, as well as the other practitioners and nurses who aided Hazel. A celebration of Hazel's life will be held on Friday, January 9, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba. In memory of Hazel, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, The Manitoba Lung Association, The Heart and Stroke Foundation and The Kidney Foundation.
