Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRITA JULIETTE BERRY (nee BLOUIN) On January 4, 2009, while in her childrens' loving arms, Mom, peacefully slipped away. Born in St. Lazare, MB, on February 4, 1932 to Jean and Gratia Blouin, Mom was the fifth youngest of 21 children. Mom left St. Lazare, in her early teens, to work in Montreal. It was there that she met and married Gerard Laferriere. They soon returned to northern Manitoba where they started their young family. They had three children, Diane, Donald, and Reynold. Following that chapter of her life, Mom met and married Alfred Berry, in Thompson, MB. They married and had two sons, Dean and Glen. With family complete, they moved to Winnipeg in the fall of 1966, where they resided for the remainder of their lives. Mom's love was a cherished gift she gave so freely to each of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Animals were also a great passion of hers. Mom was predeceased by her parents, 19 siblings and her husband Alfred (December 16, 2008). Left to mourn her passing are her devoted children, Diane (Mike) Keast, Donald (Kim) Laferriere, Reynold (Janice) Laferriere, Dean (Leslie) Berry and Glen Berry. Grandchildren, Sherry, Nicholas, Breanna, Aaron, and Michael; and great-grandchildren, Cameron, Colin, and Brooklyn. Mom also leaves her sister Margaret (Rene) Huberdeau, of St. Lazare; her brother George (Alma) Blouin, of Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan; as well as, many, many nieces and nephews. If our Mother touched your life in any way, you will always remember her fondly... We love you Mom, now, forever and always... The family would like to thank the nurses / care staff at Golden West Centennial Lodge who ensured Mom's final journey was filled with compassion, love and dignity. We will not forget you all. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Sunday, January 11, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. Refreshments to follow.

Grandma; Today you would've been 84...how time flies. You are a great-great grandmother now, but I'm sure you know that. There isn't a day that goes by without you popping up in my thoughts. I need you so bad, you were my rock..my everything. I know you are watching over us, it's the only way to explain the miracles that have occurred in our lives since you left us. I love you always Nana xoxo - Posted by: Sherry Mbaezue (Granddaughter) on: Feb 04, 2016
