WALTER WILLIAM HLADY July 18, 1927 - January 8, 2009 Peacefully, on January 8, 2009, Walter passed away at the Riverview Health Centre at the age of 81. Walter was predeceased by his wife Rose in 2005; parents William and Teklia; brothers Mike and Tony. Walter will be remembered by his son Anthony (Maureen); grandchildren Krystle, James, Kevin, and Courtney. He will also be missed by Barry Bradley, Jay Bradley, as well as other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Walter was born in Garland, Manitoba. He worked for General Foods as warehouse foreman here in Winnipeg for many years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral for many years. Walter enjoyed gardening and traveling with his wife Rose. He was a handyman and loved helping his friends and family any way he could. The family would like to thank the staff at Riverview for keeping Dad comfortable during his last days. A special thanks to Barry Bradley, Judy Halbert, and Ray Legault for their support and assistance. In lieu of flowers, donations in Walter's name may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, ON 1160 - 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9. Panachyda will be on Monday, January 12, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with an interment and reception to follow.
