ADELINE BARBARA SCOTT (nee APPLER) Peacefully on January 7, 2009 Adeline Barbara Scott passed away at Concordia Hospital at the age of 85. Adeline was predeceased by husband John in 1992; parents Katherine and Charles; brother-in-law Cliff and nephew Greg. She will be cherished in memory by son Gary; daughter Barbara; son Brian (Wendy) and her two special granddaughters Rebecca and Lauren. She is also survived by sisters Florence and Ruth (Wally) as well as many nieces and nephews. Adeline was born in Winnipeg on December 1, 1923 and grew up in the North End on Manitoba Avenue. She spent her childhood in a home surrounded by love and spent many happy times visiting relatives in Steinbach and surrounding area. Adeline spent her entire life in Winnipeg and worked at Morton's Glove factory in her early adult years. This is where she met John and in 1944 they were married. Adeline was a very loving and caring person. She enjoyed time with family and friends and adored her two granddaughters. She enjoyed travelling with her family and made many trips to Hawaii and Florida. We would like to thank those who took care of mom in her final years and days. A funeral service and reception will be held on Monday, January 12, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 211 Kimberly Avenue. Following the reception interment will take place at Glen Eden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, Canadian Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba. Forever loved and in our hearts.
