Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELSIE BALL Elsie Ball, 81 of Fort Frances, Ontario, passed away, on Wednesday, January 7, 2009, at LaVerendrye General Hospital, in Fort Frances. Elsie was born on January 13, 1927 in Emo, Ontario, to the late Thomas and Susan Geary. She had worked as a secretary for the Robert Moore and Fort Frances High Schools. She was a member of Knox United Church and the United Church Women, and a member of the Fort Frances Horticultural Society, the McIrvine Women's Institute and the Kitchen Creek Golf Club. She enjoyed knitting, quilting and doing crafts, bowling, cross country skiing and walking. She also loved to travel and had been to Cuba, Hawaii, Scotland, Las Vegas, Alaska, just to mention a few. She is survived by her four children, Richard (Nancy), Donna (Cal) Rawluk, Linda (Robert) Bisson, all of Winnipeg, MB and Jannie Ball of Fort Frances. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Kathryn Ball and her fiancé Murray Farnell, Patricia Ball, Kevin Bobczynski, Sarah Bisson and Jonathan Bisson; brothers, Jack Geary, Ed (Linda) Geary, all of Kenora, ON, Hugh Geary of Fort Frances and Nellie (Lawrence) Derouard, of Kenora; sisters, Jean Geary of Winnipeg and May Swartman of Fort Frances; brothers - and sisters-in-law, Thelma Kergoat and Dorothy Halverson, both of Thunder Bay, Bessie Ball of Kingston, ON, Maurice Thomas of Winnipeg, MB, Frank and Becky Ball of Fort Frances, Harold Wilson of Kenora; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Donald Ball on September 11, 1982; sisters, Pansy Geary and Susan Wilson; brother Earl; sisters-in-law, Bernice Thomas, Helen Geary, Hilda Geary, Doreen Geary, Louise Ball , brothers-in-law Rune Halverson; Melvin Ball, Joseph (Bud) Ball and Henry Kergoat. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Knox United Church in Fort Frances, Ontario. Reverend Barbara Miller will officiate followed by interment in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, January 9, 2009 from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. The pallbearers will be Ken Ball, Randy Ball, Robert Bisson, Aron Geary, Ron Halverson and Cal Rawluk. The honourary pallbearers will be members of the McIrvine Women's Institute; Irene Huntley, Roberta Chabot, Winnie Rousseau, Delores Cross, Annie Holborn, Helen Lalond and Ruth Brett.
