THERESA DOROTHY RICHARDSON (nee TER VOERT) After a lengthy illness, Theresa Richardson (born Theresia Maria Dorothea Ter Voert), age 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 5, 2009, with her family at her side. Mom will be lovingly missed and remembered by her children Roderick (Sandra) Christie, Mary Anne (Michael) Baccaert, Lisa (Brant) David and Catherine Christie. As a nana she will be missed by grandchildren, Jason (Nicole), Jessica (Michael), Ryan, Melissa, Jeremy, Melanie (Matt), Jennifer, Rachel and Amber. She was predeceased by her first husband Murdo Christie; second husband Clarence Richardson; and her parents Bernardus and Tonia Ter Voert. Theresa was born in Wehl, Holland and moved to Manitoba as a young child. In her early years mom was a homemaker and later worked as a dental hygienist. She had a great love of animals and we grew up with various dogs, cats, rabbits and birds as part of our family. Although her health was failing during the last few years, mom loved her family visits and card games. In compliance with Mom's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. A family gathering has been arranged to honour and celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy donations can be made in Theresa's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3. Please hold her in your arms And treasure her with care, Make up for all she suffered And all she had to bear. Please whisper in her ear In case she didn't hear, How much we truly love her And wish she was still here. We love you mom...
