Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAUDREY MABEL THOMSON (nee HYMERS) January 9, 1920 - December 29, 2008 Peacefully in her sleep at the Whitemouth Personal Care Home in Whitemouth, Manitoba. Audrey was born on Sherbrooke Street in Ottawa, the oldest child and only daughter of Frank and Marion Hymers (nee Broad). Predeceased by her parents and brothers, Roy in 1997 (Kay) and Stan in 2003 (Erma). Audrey was raised in Ottawa, attended Glebe and Commerce schools, and worked at the Met Life and Statistics Canada. In 1942 she married James Lloyd (Tommy) Thomson and this past December 1 celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. Audrey is survived by her husband Jim; her son Richard (Vivian); daughters, Judy (John) Moore and Betty (Ken) Desjardine. She is survived by seven grandchildren, Clem (D'Arcy), Cam (Mona), Bruce (Karen), Ian (Jen), Amanda Moore, Shaunna (Shawn) Finnegan and Stephanie Copeland (John Burchell); and six great-grandchildren, Travis, Cody, Ethan, Lane and Liam Thomson and Hailey Copeland-Burchell. Audrey and Jim moved to Pinawa, Manitoba in 2004. In 2007 she became a resident of the Whitemouth Personal Care Home. The family wish to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of the Whitemouth Personal Care Home for the excellent loving care that Mom received during her stay. The funeral was held in Ottawa on Saturday, January 3, 2009.
