WILLIAM JOSEPH PERCHALUK On Friday, January 9, 2009 at Riverview Health Centre Bill passed away surrounded by family. Bill left us peacefully, his suffering finally over after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Nellie Perchaluk. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years Lillian, son Ken (Brenda), daughter Theresa (Bill), grandchildren Allison and Eric. He will also be remembered by his sister Alice, brothers Norman (Margaret), John and Nick (Mary). Bill was born and raised in the areas surrounding Sundown, MB. In 1948 Bill and Lillian were married and the following year moved to Morris, MB. During the 1950 flood they relocated to Winnipeg. He then began his career as a lineman with Manitoba Hydro where he worked until his retirement in 1985 at which time he was a supervisor of hauling and distribution. Bill enjoyed many holidays after retirement with his wife to such places as Hawaii, Cuba, and Barbados with his favourite being Mazatlan, Mexico. His family meant everything to him. He served as a scout master and the family enjoyed numerous vacations together. Bill was a long time member of St. John the Apostle Ukrainian Catholic Church and had served as President. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Riverview Health Centre for their compassionate care of Bill for the last 11 years. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 14 at 10:00 am at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd, Rev. Fr. Andrew Wach and Rev. Deacon Leon Twerdun officiating. Donations in lieu of flowers to Riverview Health Centre CD4, or St. John the Apostle Ukrainian Catholic Church or to the Parkinson Society Canada, 316-4211 Yonge St, Toronto, ON M2P 2A9.
